Red Ribbon Week is an annual drug, alcohol, tobacco, and violence prevention awareness campaign observed every October in the United States. It began in 1985 to honor Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) special agent Enrique Camarena. The campaign encourages schools, families, and communities to participate in drug-free events and spread awareness through activities. In Guam various organizations and government agencies come together to spread the awareness and speak to children and families to help prevent use and abuse.
